Dr. William Morris, MD, MPH has been clinically active as a specialist in the area of hepatitis C since 2003. The Santa Cruz Primary Care Hepatitis C Center has as its mission the education, evaluation and treatment of persons with hepatitis C in Santa Cruz County within a Western Medicine framework emphasizing an evidence-based approach. Utilizing standard therapies, the Center has achieved results that are comparable to large clinical trials.

Dr. Morris received his medical degree from the University of California at San Diego in 1989, and completed his internship year in Internal medicine at the University of Maryland in 1990. He then received his Masters of Public Health with a focus on immunology in 1991 and completed a General Preventive Medicine Residency in 1992, both from The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene in Baltimore, Maryland. After some time abroad, Dr. Morris returned to the United States and finished up his internal medicine training at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California, and then moved to Santa Cruz with his family in 2000. In addition to hepatitis C, his clinical interests include hospice and palliative care, refugee healthcare, methadone, and tuberculosis. He is board certified in both Internal medicine and palliative care and is on staff at both Dominican Hospital and the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
