Aimée Gould Shunney, licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND), blends conventional medical diagnosis and treatment with the use of natural therapeutics, including dietary and lifestyle counseling, nutritional supplements, herbal medicine, homeopathy and bio-identical hormones. Dr. Shunney also has extensive training in drug/herb and drug/nutrient interactions. In addition, she is proud to be one of a very small but growing group of providers certified in the Arvigo Techniques™ of Maya Abdominal Massage. She currently sees patients in Santa Cruz and Monterey, where she specializes in Women’s Health and Family Medicine.
A natural and dynamic teacher, Dr. Shunney has lectured extensively to laypeople, medical students and physicians, as well as appearing regularly on local radio and television. She is also a featured lecturer, writer and in-store guest for New Leaf Markets in Santa Cruz.

Dr. Fraley specializes in prevention of and early intervention in chronic disease processes, such as gastrointestinal disturbances, cardiovascular disease, endocrine imbalances, musculoskeletal disorders, depression and anxiety, and immune system dysfunction. Her goal is to treat the root cause of the disease process whenever possible, in addition to addressing the symptoms. She comes from a Western scientific background, and tries to emphasize specific treatment options that have the most documented efficacy. However, she also has a deep love and respect for ancient healing traditions, and enjoys the challenge of sifting through those traditions for therapeutic "gems" that might benefit her patients. Sheis trained in Western and naturopathic diagnostics, nutritional and herbal modalities, bio-identical hormone replacement, lifestyle modification, counseling, hydrotherapy, and physical medicine.
A native Californian with a lifelong passion for health and well-being, Dr. Fraley graduated from Mills College in Oakland with a degree in Biology and then worked for a time in the biotechnology industry. Like many people, she became concerned with the crisis management model of medicine and began investigating alternatives to drugs and surgery. Looking for a way to combine her respect for the scientific method with a deep knowledge of disease prevention and early intervention strategies, She attended Bastyr University and earned her doctorate in 2001. Since then she has (in addition to raising two girls) been seeing patients at the Santa Cruz Women's Health Center, a community-based clinic offering quality, affordable health care to women and children. She is very pleased to be joining the Cedar Street Clinic team where she can offer comprehensive, compassionate integrative care to her community.
Please call or e-mail for an appointment or if you have questions.
